B.P.Ed Teacher

Job Description 

As a B.P.Ed Teacher at Ummeed Special School, you will have the unique opportunity to empower students with diverse needs through physical education. Your role will involve designing and implementing adaptive physical education programs that promote physical fitness, motor skills development, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development:Develop a customized physical education curriculum that caters to the specific needs and abilities of students with diverse disabilities.
Create lesson plans and activities that align with individualized education plans (IEPs).

Instruction and Adaptation:Provide physical education instruction that is inclusive and adapted to accommodate various disabilities.
Modify activities, equipment, and teaching strategies to ensure all students can participate and make progress.

Assessment and Progress Monitoring:Assess students’ physical abilities and motor skills to determine their baseline and progress.
Regularly evaluate and document student performance, adjusting the curriculum as needed.

Individualized Support:Collaborate with special educators and therapists to integrate physical education goals into students’ overall educational plans.
Offer one-on-one support and guidance to students as needed.

Inclusion and Positive Environment:Foster an inclusive and supportive physical education environment that promotes self-confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Encourage peer interaction and participation of students with disabilities in group activities.

Equipment and Safety:Ensure the safe and proper use of equipment and facilities during physical education classes.
Maintain and manage equipment, reporting any maintenance needs.

Communication and Collaboration:Communicate regularly with students’ parents/guardians, sharing progress and discussing strategies for support at home.
Collaborate with other educators and staff to provide a holistic educational experience for students.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed) or a related field.
  • Relevant teaching certification or licensure, as required by your region.
  • Understanding of adaptive physical education principles and practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with students and their families.
  • Compassion, patience, and a commitment to promoting physical fitness and well-being in individuals with diverse abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an educational setting with students who have disabilities.
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies and adaptive physical education equipment.
  • Training in inclusive teaching methods and behavior management.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: ₹10,000.00 – ₹15,000.00 per month
