Store Manager

Job Description 

· Delivering excellent service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

· Motivating the sales team to meet sales objectives by training and mentoring staff.

· Creating business strategies to attract new customers, expand store traffic, and enhance profitability.

· Maintain store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees and overseeing new staff with coordination with HR.

· Responding to customer questions, concerns and complaints in a professional manner.

· Ensuring store compliance with health and safety regulations.

· Developing and arranging promotional material and in-store displays.

· Preparing detailed reports on buying trends, customer requirements, and Sales.

· Undertaking store administration duties.

· Monitoring inventory levels and ordering new items.

· He must ensure that the store is free from pilferage.

· The store is kept clean and the shelves and racks are properly stocked and products do not fall off the shelves.

· Mannequins are kept at the right place to attract the customers into the store and rotated frequently.

· The merchandise should be according to the season as well as the latest trends.

· The store is well lit, ventilated and offers a positive ambience to the customers.

· Handle customer reviews and take responsibility to make sure that the customer leaves the store with a pleasant smile.

· He is responsible for managing the assets of the store.

· The security and safety of the store is his responsibility.

· The store manager must ensure that sufficient inventory is available at the store to avoid being “out of stock”.

· He along with his subordinates are responsible for planning, managing stocks, at the store as well as collating daily sales as well as other necessary MIS reports.

· Drive customer service excellence to every aspect of the store, including store appearance, display of merchandise, product placement, story layout, and selling procedures.

· Monitor stock and inventory, and perform quality assurance of merchandise on a regular basis.

· Complete store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.

· Maintain store staff job results by coaching, counselling and disciplining, employees; planning, monitoring and appraising job results.

· Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.

· Ensure availability of merchandise and services by contacting contracts and maintaining inventories.

· Formulate pricing policies by reviewing merchandising activities; determining additional needed sales promotion; authorizing clearance sales; studying trends.

· Market merchandise by studying advertising, sales promotion and display plans; analysing operating for store profitability ratios.

· Secure merchandise by implementing security systems and measures.

· Protect employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment

· Maintain the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements.

· Determine marketing strategy changes by reviewing operating and departmental sales records.

· Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

· Maintain inventory by implementing purchasing plans and staying in contact with vendors and purchaser.

· Provide training to improve the knowledge base of the staff and utilize cross-training methods to maintain productivity when employees are absent.

· Work with VM to bring in effective marketing displays for the sales floor and store windows

· Manage all controllable costs to keep operations profitable.

· Manage stock levels and make key decisions about stock control

· Analyze sales figures and forecast future sales.

· Deal with staffing issues such as conducting appraisals and performance reviews, as well as providing or organizing training and development

· Ensure standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met

· Respond to customer complaints and comments.

· Update team on business performance, new initiatives and other pertinent issues with weekly meetings.

· Tour the sales floor regularly, talking to team and customers to identify or resolve urgent issues.

· Maintain awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring what local competitors are doing.

· Ensure proper staff availability in Sales, Housekeeping, Valet, Cashier, Draper, Helpers and store operations.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: ₹30,000.00 – ₹45,000.00 per month
