Our Client is a well renowned pharmaceutical manufacturer of some of Australia’s favorite pharmaceutical and personal Care brands. They are currently undergoing substantial growth and have engaged Evolve Scientific Recruitment to source an experienced Manufacturing Supervisor (Night Shift) on a full time permanent basis. With manufacturing sites all around the world, this instantly recognizable brand is found in homes all over Australia.

Located in the SE suburbs of Melbourne, this company manufactures a variety of personal Care and Pharmaceutical products for the Australian & international markets.

About the role
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager , the key accountability of the role is to achieve production targets through utilizing a diverse team of people, while providing leadership and guidance in workplace safety, Good Manufacturing Practice and managing costs. Also must drive continuous improvement to consistently raise the performance of the team, while modelling the company Values.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work with Production Colleagues and key personnel from Management, Packing, Planning, Purchasing, Engineering, Warehouse and Quality so that all are aligned and supporting one another to achieve Operational goals.
  • Liaise with Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager and Engineering personnel to ensure that equipment runs smoothly, with effective preventive maintenance and minimal breakdowns.
  • Work with R&D, QA and Engineering to develop and improve manufacturing methods and related processes while continuously reviewing these and striving to minimize the use of resources including Labour, equipment capacity, cost, waste, water, energy and surfactants.
  • Liaise with Production Planner, Manufacturing Manager / Shift Supervisors and Packing team on the production plan. Provide regular updates and implement changes efficiently.
  • Manage the Manufacturing team via effective training, mentoring, coaching, motivating, performance management and communication.
  • Assist the Manufacturing Manager in driving a cohesive, productive and efficient culture.
  • Report any quality issues to the Manufacturing Manager and if appropriate Production Manager and Quality Control Manager.

To be successful in this position you will have a:

  • You will be a quality-focused individual with excellent attention to detail, communication skills, report writing skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, regulated environment.
  • Experience in working in a highly regulated GMP environment
  • Demonstrated leadership experience is highly desirable
  • Knowledge and experience in pharmaceutical or food environment
  • Demonstrated experience working in a production environment dealing other departmental managers

You will also bring with you a positive attitude, integrity, be self- motivated, strong leadership style, ability to handle multiple tasks, be thorough and diligent.
