  • $70,133 + 11% Superannuation (Full-Time) / $35.49 + 25% Casual Loading + 11% Superannuation (Casual)

The Customer Relations cares for customers as much as they care for the city. It achieves this by facilitating solutions for customers, collaborating to transform experiences and leading the customer relationship approach.

Customer Relations Officers provide outstanding frontline customer service to all customers and stakeholders of the City of Melbourne. Working in a contact centre environment in a large team the position will deliver service across all customer contact channels – telephone, face to face, emails (online), written correspondence, live chat and social media.As the first point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders, the Customer Relations Officer has a vital role in ensuring the values and service standards of the City of Melbourne are maintained, with a focus on first time resolution of enquiries of high quality.

Selection Criteria:

All CoM employees will demonstrate an ability to articulate and demonstrate benefits of positive culture and City of Melbourne’s iCare values – Integrity, Courage, Accountability, Respect and Excellence;

  • Relevant experience in a Contact Centre environment and/or customer service experience and demonstrated customer service skills including telephone (call centre environment), Face to Face and Written Communications
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to assess and balance priorities and work under limited supervision.
  • High emotional intelligence with proven ability to empathise with customers
  • Excellent computer and keyboard skills and great attention to detail
  • Demonstrated broad knowledge of the City of Melbourne and its services – Desirable
